  • Mushrooms, foraging, hiking, cooking, medicinal herbs, basketry, wildcrafting, cryptogams, bushcraft, & firecraft.

  • Locations are sent in email correspondences.

  • Up to 7 attendees

  • 8 courses for a total of 54 hours

A reminder email will be sent to you in an email a few days prior to each class with information on location, timing, what to bring, etc..

Friday January 19th, 2024

11am to 4:30pm -5.5hrs

Cryptogams, Mushrooming, and Firecraft

- Lichens, Liverworts, Mosses, and Ferns – Ecology, Ethnobotany, and Identification.

- Firecraft Workshop – Fire with a Ferro Rod & Fire Building Skills.

- Fungi Foray – Foraging Edible & Medicinal Species, Identifying Others.

Additional topics may include:

- Knot-tying and tarp deployment

- Ax and knife safety session and practice

- Cooking over a fire (food not provided; you may want to bring lunch in the form of ingredients for meals like soup, stew, stir fry, etc..) – optional.

Monday March 25th

2:30pm to 7:30pm - 5hrs

Pine Needle Basketry

Discovery Park

Course Topics include:

- Learning the coil-technique in basketry.

- Using pine needles to make a small basket.

- Immersing into the meditative quality of weaving.

- Pine species ID and ecology – where/how to forage, how to identify.

Indoors.

Thursday April 18th

1pm to 5:30pm - 4.5hrs
