Meet in the lower parking lot on Silver Beach Rd.

  • Identifying plants, mushrooms, lichens, moss, and wildlife

    • Helpful mnemonics and playful quizzes to help solidify new knowledge.

  • Learn traditional and modern uses for plants and fungi we find.

  • Learn about ethnobotany & natural history

  • Birding

  • Q&A at your leisure

  • Beautiful scenery

What to Bring:

  • Dress for the weather

  • Snacks and water

  • Binoculars if you have them

You may also want to bring:

  • A notebook and pen

  • DSLR camera

  • Your favorite field guide (plants, lichens, ferns, moss, wildlife)

Additional Information

The majority of the class will be spent stopped along a trail or inside the forest looking at and learning about plants, mushrooms, and wildlife at Whatcom Falls. There are several beautiful waterfalls to admire!
